Here are some of the pages of the work I'm doing with my global community art project "The Sketchbook Project" with the Boston Museum. I have to fill a sketchbook before January and mail it back to them. Then it goes into a traveling exhibit where each book is barcoded and each time it is taken out for viewing you are notified. Pretty cool! Last year there were 2,800 sketchbooks!

Rainy Day Blues
The summer in Alberta this year was awful. We had a whole lot of rain. I didn't mind it other than it made me very lethargic and not want to do anything! Luckily I had my studio set up so I could spend time creating while the rain pelted down outside. And I had come across a very inspirational artist named Suzi Blu. She has helped me to get back into creating art just for the sake of creating. Just when I needed a creative, outlet I found her! And I've been creating art just for me ever since.
Illustration Friday - Diary
Illustration Friday is an art community that I subscribe to that offers a word a week to use to create with. This particular week the word was Diary.

Trying this blog thing...
As a child who's mother has a passion for writing, I grew up writing my trials and tribulations of life down on the pages of many journals. As an artist I have grown to add mixed media to my random ramblings in my sketchbooks. It's a form of therapy really. I have to create. It is food for my soul. My art is my emotions, views, visions, dreams and it's as random as notes on napkins.
